News

Sorry that I missed this post last week. Too much going on. First week back to work, back to school night, going to see my dad after work. It took it’s toll on me.

There is some improvement with my dad. He is more cognitively aware. He is trying to manage his pain and work towards getting mobility back. But it’s hard for someone his age. I’m not sure he can get back to where he was before.

This last week was the first week students were back in the building. Another crazy week and I’m exhausted. I know it will settle down but right now I want to sleep for a week.

What I read this week

Sadly, no reading happened. I’m hoping this weekend will change that.

New Books this week

I purchased this used online and was super disappointed in the quality. It said minimal wear. Right. If this is minimal wear then I’d like to speak to the person who read it about how you treat books.

Book cover for 'Sight of Solace' by E.K. Pomfret featuring a sun motif with text overlay.

This pre-order arrived.

Cover of the book 'Warrior Princess Assassin' by Brigid Kemmerer, featuring a sword and a crown motif.
Version 1.0.0

I received a this for review. It’s an advent romance book. Very excited about it! Each chapter is closed with a double page. You open a chapter a day to count down. I love advent calendars so I’m excited to see how this goes.

Book cover for 'A Heart for Christmas' by Sophie Jomain, featuring a heart-shaped design with festive elements and the title in bold lettering.
What’s new on your shelf? Hope you had a great week!

Interesting looking books. I hope that your dad improves as much as he is able to. Wow first week back at school. I bet that was a lot after the break.

Have a good rest of the weekend.

Nice book haul. I know the feeling about back to school. No reading/listening for me last week. I’m hoping to get back to it this coming week. Hoping your dad improves. Take a breather this weekend. Have a great week!

Glad to hear your dad is making some improvements! That’s better than not at least! And ugh, back to school time. I know my sister and my cousin are both dreading it. My sister just went back on Thursday and I didn’t quite hear when my cousin goes back she either started last week or goes back this week. I know they were both loving their summers reading! Lol.

Nice new reads! The first one is a new to me one but I also picked up Brigid’s adult debut! She actually was here just on Thursday night so I went to that and had a lot of fun! I always enjoy going to signings even if I’m solo. I just love hearing the authors talk!

My StS will be up tomorrow, stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

I got the same Advent calendar book as well! I guess I need to start it early if I’m going to open it up one a day like you would for an Advent calendar. I’m dealing with my mom’s health issues, so I understand how things are with your dad. And our students come back this week. I’m ready, but not ready. Almost more ready just to get this year done and on to my last two after that to be able to retire and be out of education as things just seem to get crazier every year. Here’s to a good week for both of us!
